After trying many vegan skin alternatives, we settled on Apple Skin, made in Florence, after years of searching and years of testing before it was ready for production. Luckily, we found a wonderful product and after years of experimentation, we were finally able to come up with our first apple skin collection in 2023, which has been renewed season after season with unbroken success ever since.
About the material
Apple Skin is an innovative, environmentally friendly material made by recycling by-products of apple juice production, such as apple pulp. It is a sustainable alternative to real leather.
The use of this material not only offers a sustainable alternative to animal leather, but also reduces food waste by recycling by-products from the apple juice production process. It contributes to the circular economy and waste reduction.
The italian Mabel Industries is a leader in the production of synthetic leather, particularly in the footwear, leather goods, furniture and bookbinding sectors. Since 2010, the company has been actively involved in the production of eco-sustainable materials from plant processing waste, contributing to eco-innovation in the industry.
